Introducing: A second life for Brita® filters
Preserve and Brita have worked together to collect filters at over 250 locations nationwide. Together, we are pioneering new ways to "close the loop".
We accept Brita® pitcher filters and Brita® bottle water filters
Recycling your filter in Canada?
In 2013 we will collect over 250,000 lbs. of #5 plastic, including Brita® filters, in our retail collection program. That's equivalent to the weight of the plastic* in more than 7 million Brita® filters. Since Brita joined the program, we have collected the equivalent weight in plastic of 25 million filters. Together we are making a big difference.
*Brita Filters are emptied as part of Gimme 5 process
In 2008, Brita approached Preserve about giving their water pitcher filter casings a new life. Preserve calculated that the benefits of recycling Brita® filters outweighed the environmental impact of running the Gimme 5 recycling program. Together Brita and Preserve collect and recycle thousands of filters every year in order to give them a new life as a Preserve toothbrush or as Preserve razor handles. In 2011, Preserve added Brita On-the-go water filters to the list of products they recycle.
