After working with Preserve Gimme 5 since 2013 to recycle their #5 pods, Keurig Green Mountain® has discontinued their Gimme 5 mail-in program and is now directing recyclers to put their clean #5 brewed pods into their municipal recycling. When we look at Preserve’s razors and their environmental footprints, heating water to shave with and the blades are the main drivers. (The handle itself can be reused for years and when it’s done, you can drop it in a Gimme 5 bin for recycling.) We offer some water reduction tips for shaving here:
Although caps are typically #5 plastic (polypropylene), they can often be recycled through “caps on.”
