Plum Organics considers the sustainability and environmental footprint of all their products, from what the packaging is made of to how it is disposed of. Many of the caps on Plum’s pouches are made of polypropylene, or #5 plastic*. Although recycling programs for #5 plastic are growing, #5 plastics are still not accepted in many municipal recycling programs. Unfortunately, even when they are accepted, the caps are so small they can’t make it through the recycling stream, which is why Preserve will be accepting all caps from Plum pouches. Plum joined Preserve Gimme 5 to provide a sustainable solution for recycling their caps.
Which Plum items can be sent back in the Gimme 5 program?
Caps from all pouches across all of Plum’s lines- Baby, Tots, and Kids. Caps from other similar format pouches will also be accepted.
