Meet the Newest Member of the Family
When we decided to create our new line of Everyday Tableware, we were excited about the challenge ahead of us. We envisioned these bowls, plates, and cups as being kitchen staples, an integral part of your life.
So we began the design process from scratch, working with people like you. To be your go-to choice, the Everyday line had to be fun, ultra-functional, and dishwasher safe. It had to be made from a healthy and sustainable material, so we chose 100% recycled (and 100% recyclable) #5 plastic, and avoided materials like melamine. At the same time, sturdiness and durability were critical. In fact, our goal was to ensure that you can Reuse your Everyday Tableware Forever.
With your help, we found that the dishes had to feel substantial to promote re-use. We agonized and analyzed as we added each gram of plastic to the product to arrive at the perfect balance of sturdiness while minimizing the amount of precious recycled resources we used. Material isn’t the only thing that creates strength and durability; it's the curved shape of the bowl, plate, and cup that makes all the difference. A textured surface hides knife marks (our research showed that this is the #1 reason why people dispose of tableware). And, yes. We tested, tested, and re-tested the dishes to prove that they are tough enough to withstand thousands of rounds in the dishwasher.
We stamp the manufacture date on the bottom of each plate, bowl, and cup. As the years pass, we think you will find this date a point of pride. In an era of disposability, these are keepers.
